You find it takes four cups of coffee to get you to wake up in the morning and then you need a glass of wine or more to go to sleep at night. Believe me, I’ve felt like this before.
This is my story;
I was 37 years old and had just moved to a new state. I was working full time, had two little kids under four, was a triathlete, and was going to school. I did a lot of stuff and all of a sudden I started gaining weight like crazy. While I felt exhausted all the time, I couldn’t fall asleep at night. I was not happy and I felt horrible. I went to different doctors and they told me because I was almost 40 I should expect to gain weight. Their answer was to eat less and exercise more. I couldn’t handle that answer. That was completely unacceptable to me. It made no sense and I did not want my life to be like that. I felt like crap and I was way too young to feel that way. So, I did a lot of research. Having a doctorate in physical therapy, I decided as a healthcare professional, I was going to learn more and figure out why I didn’t feel well.
After researching functional medicine and nutrition for 10 years, I put together a plan that has helped me get my life back on track. It’s gotten me to the point where I am feeling so much better. Along my journey, I didn’t have a coach to guide me. I would have loved to have that because there are a lot of pitfalls along the path. When you Pinterest a plan together, you don’t know what you’re walking into. You don’t know if that’s for you or if that’s for somebody else. I struggled through this because I didn’t have someone to guide me. What kept me going through all of this were my kids. I wanted to have fun with my kids. I wanted to laugh with my husband. I wanted to continue to work out into my old age.
